 The Importance of Education

The dictionary meaning of knowledge is to be aware and to know. Knowledge is a gift of God to human being. This is a kind of treasure which increases by consuming. Think, what kind of wealth you would like to have? One kind of wealth is that a person has a huge amount of money, marvelous buildings, bank balance and a good deal of power etc. On the other hand, wealth of knowledge, such a wealth which could retract a spoiled person, never ends and which remains with human beings in every situation. It enables a person to maintain his status in the society. Again it’s a source of success in this world and hereafter, nobody can steal it and no one can destroy it. Almighty God has bestowed education with highest prestige. The first revelation of God on Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) at the cave of HIRA was, “Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who created, created man from a clot. Read! and your Lord is the Most bountiful, (he who taught) the use of pen taught man which he knew not.” (Al-Qur'an 96:1-3)

Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) says, “Getting education is obligatory for each Muslim male and female. In this way, it was privileged by (P.B.U.H) upon a time when people were unaware of the importance of knowledge. People in that time would consider it a sin to get their females educated, while males were given much importance and all of their desires were fulfilled. There were such kinds of people as well who felt guilty when a female child was born at their homes and in most of the cases they used to bury the new born baby. Our beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H) took them out of the great ignorance and taught them that females were not inferior to males rather they deserved to be respected, He S.A.W gave right of education and an appropriate share of property of parents to females. Because of the great knowledge of Adam (A.S) Angels bowed in front of him, and another saying of (P.B.U.H) reads “Best person among you is that who learned Holy Quran and taught to others".

Quran Sharif is dictum of Almighty God and human being is the subject of Quran Shareef. In Quran not only Namaz and Roza have been taught us but also all the people have been given direction of living irrespective of the age and epoch.

It tells us that the best source of knowledge is the Holy Quran which we put in the drawers instead of reading. After the above discussion I have come to the conclusion that nothing is better than knowledge in this world and knowledge is superior to all other thing what so ever, therefore, it’s recommended that as for as possible light of knowledge should be spread around the country . Government and NGO's must make appropriate programs to expand sphere of education acro
