Ghizer is one of the most literate districts of Gilgit Baltistan with a literacy rate ofaround 95%. The people of Ghizer are offering their services in varied departments in both the public and private sector. Realizing the importance of education for the present and future generations the people of the area, with the facilitation of the government and the Aga Khan Education Services Pakistan (AKESP), have established educational institutions from primary to intermediate level in nearly every village of every tehsil.

 Schools and colleges have been established by both the government and private sector in other tehsils of the district as well, which are playing a very important part in the development of the region. The AKESP has an Aga Khan Diamond Jubilee School in every village, thus ensuring easy access to education for all segments of the society.
